I was pretty excited before this shoot. First of all, it was not really a booking for an elopement in Cyprus what I usually photograph, it was an inquiry for an pre-wedding photo-shoot. We have started correspondence with Mina from Teheran long ago, and I couldn’t even believe she wanted me for her photoshoot, since I’m not currently a Cyprus based wedding photographer, I only travel there occasionally. She even booked the dates of her holiday according to my August schedule. With the help of the one and only Sofia from Weddings in Cyprus, who is an excellent wedding planner in Cyprus we have booked hairdresser, make-up artist and fixed the route and the locations for the photoshoot. When I met Mina and her husband my hands were shaking, they were the nicest kindest people I met recently, and we both had big expectations for this shoot.
What I like about this photoshoots – compare to a wedding day – that finally here I can plan. I can plan the timings, choose the locations according to the best light conditions. Mina trusted me with everything and was open to all my suggestions. We talked a lot in the car when were travelling from one location to the other. Found out how their wedding was in Teheran, saw some pictures, talked about culture, people, and I felt like knowing her for a long time already. We found out its not the simplest thing to get a visa for them to Cyprus, and actually it could have been easier for them to travel to Northern Cyprus. When I asked them the reason they still chose South-Cyprus her response was: “Because you are here” – I remember I almost cried. I was so happy that someone gave me so much trust from thousand kilometers from my home to make wedding pictures for her. It was an amazing day, that I will remember forever.
